LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND(SMI-GLOBAL-WOMEN-SPORTS-JULY 02-27, 2025)-FIFA ranked #11, The Netherland Women's national team blanks Wales(World#30) to claim its first 3-points in Group D, of the group stage competition at the UEFA Women's Euro 2025, at Swissporarena, in Lucerne, Switzerland.

The Dutch team also known as "the Orange" outperformed Wales in the game-stats 68%-32% in possession, 7-0 shots on goal & 19-5, shots on target to claim its first victory and 3-points in Group group D.

The Netherland went to the attack from the start, and on its first counter-attack through the left-side field, midfielder Esmee Virginia Brugts passed the ball to Jill Roord who tried to cross it hitting Wale's Hayley Ladd leg back-to- Roord and immediately shot a right-footed to goal but it was saved and deflected-off Olivia Clark's right hand glove onto the field at 4' mark.

The Dutch kept the pressure, and after defender Veerle Buurman sent a long ball from back field intended to striker Vivianne Miedema, Wale's defender Rhiannon Roberts cleared short with a header to Jill Roord who was approaching on a run and shot a right-footed missile from 25-yards away hitting the right-goal post back onto the field at 35' mark.

With the game-clock winding down and on final counter-attack of the half for the Netherlands, midfielder Daniëlle van de Donk through the left-side field passed the ball to striker Vivianne Miedema and scored in stoppage-time 45+2, with a curled strike from 19-yards away to the far goalpost for her 100th international goal of her career to give the Dutch 1-0, over Wales at the half.

In the second half, The Orange picked-up where they left-off and scored two goals
during the span of 12' minutes to put the game away 3-0, at 57 mark.

Dutch's defender Veerle Buurman once again sent a long ball from down back-field 
to Daniëlle van de Donk who through the right-side field corner rolled a pass inside the 18' to midfielder Victoria Pelova who stroke with a right-footed to the opposite goalpost in back of the net for 2-0, Netherlands at 48' mark.

Four-minuter later, striker Vivianne Miedema on a fast-break through the left-side field passed the ball inside the 18, to Jill Roord who shot a left-footed hitting the crossbar back onto the field for her second missed goal opportunity of the game at 52' mark.

The Orange kept the offensive momentum and third goal arrived 5' later, during a corner kick the Wale's defenders cleared the ball to Jackie Groenen who shot a canon from 30-yards away hitting the crossbar onto the field and in the rebound through the right-side field midfielder Wieke Kaptein centered the ball inside the 6-yard box finding midfielder Esmee Brugts who scored with low right-footed to secure and sealed a 3-0, victory for The Netherlands over Wales.
