ITHACA, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-WOMEN-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY-03-21-03.24, 2026)-The Southern Connecticut State University women's gymnastic team finished in 7th place at 2026 GEC conference championship with an overall score of 192.350 while Penn won its fifth straight GEC title with overall score 195.025, follow by Yale (194.625), Brown 3rd place ( 194.525), Cornell 4th place ( 194.150) and William & Mary in fifth place ( 193.800) in the tournament last Saturday March 21, at Newman Arena at Bartel Hall, Cornell University.
William & Mary led the competition with in the first session with team overall score of 193.800, followed by University of Bridgeport 192.475, Southern CT. 192.350 & West Chester registering 192.250 to closed out the overall score of the GEC conference championship.

Southern CT State University were led Abby Royer who won the Floor event title with 9.925 score, Lola Sepulveda tied for 4th place with 9.675 on the Vault routine, Gabriele Dinisoe score 9.725 to share fifth place, and Angelina Stanfa took 3rd place with 9.725 on the Beam routine.
Note: Sophia Dewar (Brown Floor), Nova Staruk (Bridgeport U. Vault), Jordan Barrow (Penn vault), Manama Fontana (Penn floor), and SCSU's Abby Royer (floor) were selected as part of the five GEC gymnasts that qualified for the 2026 NCAA Lexington Regionals in Kentucky.
