ITHACA, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-WOMEN-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY-03-21-03.24, 2026)-The William & Mary Women's gymnastic team finished fifth with 193.800 in the 2026 GEC Gymnastic championship tournament with the University of Pennsylvania winning the title with 195.025 , followed by Yale with 194.625, Brown took third place with 194.525,  and host Cornell grabbing 4th place with 194.150, last Saturday March 21, at Bartel Hall, Cornell University.

The Tribes who are on Road to Nationals NCAA #66, finished first in Session I & 5th overall in the tournament with a team score of 193.800.William & Mary recorded 48.125 in the Vault, 48.450  Uneven bars, 48.625  Balance Beam, and 48.600 in the Floor for a team total 193.800  in the four rotations.

William & Mary were led by Melissa Gao with T2 with 9.700 in the Vault. Kate Peebles won the Uneven Bars with 9.800, and teammate Ascha Laird T2  with 9.975. Jasmine Hou won the Beam title with 9.800, while Ashley Ruedy T3 with 9.800 on the floor.

The Tribe recorded the best score on the Vault with 48.125 & beam 48.625 in Session I, with the Beam total score being the 2nd highest among teams in both sessions.


 
​Note: Sophia Dewar (Brown Floor), Nova Staruk (Bridgeport U. Vault), Jordan Barrow (Penn Vault), Manama Fontana (Penn floor), and SCSU's Abby Royer (floor) were selected as part of the five GEC gymnasts that qualified for the 2026 NCAA Lexington Regionals in Kentucky.​
